Winter Wonderland Wedding | Sunriver Resort | Bend, OR
Do you prefer real or fake? How about natural or man-made? I can appreciate a great transformation, trick or even hack. However, in the context of wedding settings, my answer would have to be real and natural. Instead of transforming an indoor space into a Winter Wonderland Wedding, notice how beautifully the natural outdoor elements lent themselves to Elizabeth and Jarel’s wedding day at Sunriver Resort near Bend, OR.
Winter Wonderland Wedding
Elizabeth with her Bridesmaids. They’re so elegant, calm and composed.
Now how about these wild guys? Jarel, his groomsmen, step-son and adorable little Wes.
I wonder what they’re laughing about….
Bride, “I’m wearing Sorel snow boots under my fancy wedding gown.”
Bridesmaid on the far left, “Me too but I think mine are visible..opps.”
Everyone laughs on cue. 🙂
Elizabeth lived for a time in Hawaii and has a special fondness for tuberose flowers.
It was the easy choice for the flowers in her hair.
These ladies had style. There’s not doubt about that. Check out those faux fur capelets.
Now for a little background on how I know this client and ended up designing their winter wonderland wedding in January 2016. I have known the groom, Jarel, for about 7 years now. We have a group of mutual friends. I remember the days when I was still working an accounting job, at desk, in an office and he was waiting tables at Olive Garden and taking night classes at the jr. college. As time would progress, I started doing more wedding flower work and Jarel starting learning more about webdesign. Fast forward a bit and next thing I know we’re collaborating on a logo, business cards, and this lovely website that I’m using now. Fast forward to 2015 and Jarel has met an amazing woman, he gets along great with her super high energy and sweet boy, Noah. Next thing I know, they’re engaged and planning their wedding.
After seeing Jarel work his skills online in my business life, I was so eager to share my skills in his personal life. There were a few hiccups though. The wedding was going to be in a different state. About an 8 hour drive away in the winter. Not to mention the date was set for a weekend I had personal plans booked for months in advance. Some way some how we pulled it off though. I designed the flowers and loaded up a groomsman’s vehicle. The next morning, Jarel & Elizabeth had my floral designs for their wedding.
