Flying Cloud Farm Wedding | Petaluma, CA

Flying Cloud Farm Wedding | Petaluma, CA

Did you know I used to work in an office? It’s the truth. I worked for a landscape contractor in their accounting department. I was about 3 months shy of my 9 year work-iversary when I left to pursue my floral business full time. Although I didn’t mind the work I did, I don’t miss it. What I do miss are the people. How does that relate to this Spring 2016 Flying Cloud Farm Wedding in Petaluma, CA? It was one of my ex-coworkers who referred the couple my direction. It’s true!

I received a web inquiry from Bride Mallory and come to find out my ex-cowoker, Diane, liked the restaurant that Groom Owen worked at. She was out with some friends one night and as Owen mixed their drinks it came up in conversation that he was getting married in Petaluma. Diane knew just the lady for the job… me! She passed along my information and the rest is pretty much history at this point.

As a small business owner, I am always so thankful for word of mouth referrals. I’m looking forward to the wedding of another referral from Diane this spring in Marin.

This was my first event at Flying Cloud Farm. Owner Jeanette Bell was great to work with. The property is tucked away in a quiet area of Petaluma. I love how the outdoor space transitions from ceremony to dinner/reception. In the photos you can see how this allows for couples to utilize the floral decor from ceremony during dinner.  After the ceremony, cocktail hour was held indoors while the farm staff flipped the space. Mallory & Owen were able to sit at their sweet heart table under the same Chuppah decor they said ‘I do’ under just about an hour earlier. Talk about budget friendly!
