Del Dotto Residence | Saint Helena, CA
A few weeks back I created the floral arrangements for Tandy’s Bridal Shower. She’s such a spunky girl with so much enthusiasm for life. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the flowers for her wedding. It was going to be a grey and yellow wedding at Del Dotto Residence. The textures of the fuzzy Coxcomb, prickly Eryngium, and the fluffy Stock were going to be phenomenal.
I should probably mention that Tandy is the younger sister of my sister-in-law. I wanted so badly to send Tandy pictures of her flowers, but I wouldn’t do that with any of my other brides so why would I spoil the excitement and surprise for her? Instead, I sent pictures to my sister-in-law, Lang. Lang’s immediate response… ‘You’ve really out done yourself this time Bekah!’
Come to find out, poor Tandy was checking her InstaGram feed almost every 15mins waiting for me to post a pic of my work as I typically do while creating floral arrangements. It took a lot of self control not to share her lovely arrangements with my followers, but I just couldn’t spoil the surprise.
However, since I’m not mean and terrible(some might debate this) I sent Tandy this up-close shot of her bouquet on the morning of her wedding. The perfect white Dahlia from Neve Brothers along with the gorgeous fluffy Football Mum, the fragrant Stock and the adorable/trendy Billy Ball and Scabiosa Pod. She was so happy!
I arrived on site at the first photography location, Allora Vineyards, to pin boutonnières and corsages and deliver bouquets. It was photo time. This is not the first time I’ve worked with the lovely and talented photography duo – Amber and Michael – Amber French Photography. They were also the photographers for this incredible wedding that I made the flowers for.
It’s not everyday that one of the groomsmen you get to pin a boutonnière on is your brother. Had to get a pic with him. Do we look alike? ; )
I still remember the day Tandy emailed me her ‘ideal bridal bouquet’ and I had to break it to her that the flowers in her bouquet were fabric. WHAT?! Clearly, she wanted to use fresh flowers and in the end her bouquet looked nothing like the first picture she showed me. For the record – she said her bouquet was perfect! Here’s a look at the Tandy’s bridal bouquet(right) and 1 of 5 bridesmaid bouquets(left).
The lovely bride and groom – just after their ‘first look’ at each other. Now, Tandy’s first look at her bouquet!
Of course I had to snap a shot of my handsome brother and his lovely wife. Everyone looked so stunning.
Del Dotto Residence
The reception took place at Del Dotto Residence in St. Helena, CA. Decorated with homemade touches by Lang – the signs, burlap table runners and lace detail overlays – added extra style and personality to the event. These small clusters of vases added cute touches of flowers that accented the Mason Jar centerpieces.
And what would this reception be like without a cozy lounge area of vintage furniture? This bride was right on point with the current wedding trends!
Dinner was served(to a fancy tango beat) ….
the cake was cut…
I got dressed up…
And the day was a success. Congrats to Chris and Tandy!
